Illustrative living room showing indoor heating and outdoor temperature context.

Heat-up performance describes how indoor temperature responds while heating is active. Slow or uneven response may indicate a limitation worth investigating.

Cool-down behaviour describes how a room retains heat relative to outdoor conditions after heating. Comparisons across rooms and repeated periods can reveal useful differences.

These patterns provide indicators. They do not replace a heating-engineer assessment, heat-loss calculation, EPC, thermal-imaging survey or building-fabric investigation.
